NFL Heads Down Under: Rams to Play at the MCG in 2026

The NFL is officially coming to Australia and it’s making a huge entrance. In 2026, the Los Angeles Rams will host a regular-season game at the iconic MCG, with a crowd of up to 100,000 expected to pack the stands.

AFL and NFL to Share the MCG? No Worries, Says Premier

With the game likely to take place in September, many questioned how the MCG would handle both the AFL finals and the NFL spectacle. But Victorian Premier Jacinta Allen is confident both codes can thrive.

“There won’t be a clash,” Allen said. “We’re putting together a committee to make sure the timing works for everyone, the AFL, the NFL, and the stadium.”

Options like the AFL’s pre-finals bye are on the table, and MCC boss Stuart Fox jumped in at the press conference to back the plan, saying there’s “no way” the events will interfere.

Rams Stars Explore Melbourne

Rams defensive stars Kobie Turner and Steve Avila are in town to promote the game and experience the local footy culture. They toured the MCG and caught a Carlton vs North Melbourne match.

“It’s a crazy stadium,” Turner said. “We’re super excited to play here next year.”

Who Will They Face?

The Rams’ opponent is still under wraps, but likely contenders include the Giants, Cowboys, Chiefs, or Seahawks.
