Nursing union members at the Medical Imaging Department of the Royal Hobart Hospital have started industrial action.
Despite the Health Department making an undertaking since January to address understaffing, relentless workloads and fatigue, the union’s Phoebe Mansell claims its the same old story for fed up staff.
“So they are just looking looking at no forced overtime, a ban on non-nursing duties and taking an additional fatigue break if they are required to do excessive on call duties.”
Premier Rockliff has committed to more consultation to try and help the situation.
“Sitting down and working together on ensuring that we are focusing, which we are, on recruitment and retention.”
