The Jackjumpers are well on their way to the NBL playoffs following a 27 point win over the South East Melbourne Phoenix.

The 94-67 win on the road kept the pressure on the Perth Wildcats for a top-two spot on the ladder, and kept a distance from the Illawarra Hawks in fourth.

The odds which were already stacked against the Phoenix were made even worse when coach Mike Kelly was ejected for two technical fouls in the third quarter.

The loss means the Phoenix still sit last.

Jackjumpers coach Scott Roth was pleased the team will finish another season with a winning record.

“The biggest thing is that I’m super proud of this particular group because this is our third year in-a-row of posting a winning season,” he said.

“I don’t think it’s ever been done by an expansion team so for us to do that three years in-a-row in this type of league, it was a little choppy for us during the course of the season, I’m super proud to get 15 wins and finish in the top three.”

The Jackjumpers finish with a blockbuster at home on Saturday night, hosting the Wildcats at home with tip off from 8pm.
