Passengers who were onboard the COVID-plagued Ruby Princess cruise ship, including a number of Tasmanians, are suing operator Carnival.
A former nurse is leading the class action, claiming the liner failed in its duty to take reasonable care of passengers back in 2020.
The cruise ship was one of Australia’s first major outbreaks of COVID, and 28 people who had been on board died from the virus.

The coronavirus also spread from passengers through Burnie’s public and private hospitals, claiming 11 lives and causing a two-week lock-down of the North West Coast.
