It’s the first time the event has been held in Launceston in 36 years.

Competition will be held across the entire week at a variety of venues in 10 sports – athletics, basketball, bocce, bowling, football, golf, gymnastics, swimming and table tennis. Table tennis will be a demonstration sport.

Competitiors will come from all over Australia to be a part of it. 600 volunteers will do their best to help make it a fantastic experience.

“It really is a wonderful week and a terrific way to showcase Launceston as a city,” Visit Northern Tasmania chief executive Chris Griffin said.

“If you see any of the athletes or their entourage around town, make sure you make them feel welcome”.
