The Albanese Government is undertaking a review of quality standards in the Aged Care sector.
Tasmanian homes are still falling short.
Notices of non-compliance are current against the Barossa Park Lodge, Barrington Lodge, Freemasons and Hawthorn Village homes in Greater Hobart, also Coroneagh Park at Penguin and Meercroft Care at Penguin.
Federal Aged Care Minister Annika Wells says they’ll be holding homes to seven new standards including governance, food and nutrition and clinical care.
“To be a Commonwealth-funded provider of aged care services, you need to be able to demonstrate how you meet the standards, and this is independently asssessed by the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission,” said Ms Wells.
“We are seeking feedback on these new, strengthened standards and consultation is open from now until November 25.”
