690 new Covid-19 cases today

Tasmania continues to ride the winter wave of Covid-19, with active case numbers falling once more.

690 new infections have popped up overnight.

139 people are in hospital with Coronavirus, 39 of those patients are being treated specifically for symptoms.

Eight Covid-positive patients are being cared for in the ICU.

521 people are using the Covid@Homeplus program.

There are now 5,999 active cases being monitored across the state.

Sadly, two more Tasmanians have passed away from Covid-19.

A woman in her 50s and a woman in her late 80s have both died, taking the State’s toll to 141 since the pandemic began.

Public Health has strongly recommended wearing a mask in all indoor public places and on public transport, and in other settings, if you can’t physically distance.

Masks must still be worn in all our public hospitals.

Premier Jeremy Rockliff is reminding those of us who have symptoms to stay home and get tested.
