The Star Theatre, Launceston

Details: Built in 1937, the Star Theatre is an iconic Art Deco cinema in Launceston, Tasmania. It ceased operation as a cinema in 1969 but it was re-opened on the 24 February 2018. Come and see the beautiful Art Modern (late 1930s Art Deco) cinema that has been restored. You are welcome to wander through and have a look at the building, enjoy a coffee or a glass of wine at the cafe/bar, and of course watch a movie!

Newstead Athletics Weekly Cross-Country Run
Where: In and around Launceston Area.
When: Saturday, 30th March – Saturday, 14th September 2019
Details: Newstead Athletics hold weekly cross-country events every Saturday in and around the Launceston area commencing on Saturday 30 March, 2019. There are three divisions to choose from with different distances - Div. 3 1.5-2km, Div. 2 3-4km, Div. 1 5-12km. Launceston Tornadoes Round 7 v Albury-Wodonga Bandits

Westbury Market
Where: Lonsdale Promenade, opposite the Village Green, Westbury

Details: Fresh Vegetables, Cakes, Biscuits, Jams, Pickles, Relishes. Plants, books galore, picture postcards, jewellery, haberdashery, bric a brac, something for everyone. Come along and enjoy browsing the stalls while enjoying the open fire to keep warm.
Weather permitting BBQ as well as a wonderful array of sandwiches, and delicacies available along with soup and tea and coffee from the cafe in the hall.
Goods are sold on commission and more stall holders always welcome. Proceeds to the Anglican Parish of Quamby.

Mole Creek Market

Details: Bring your family and enjoy at a day at the beach, when you cast your vote at Australia's most picturesque polling place. Grab something delicious from the Kelso Community Centre's election day BBQ and cake stall.
We will have bacon and egg rolls, hamburgers with or without the lot, vegie burgers and of course your traditional democracy sausage in bread. Onions and home-made relish free! RSPCA Tasmania Million Paws
Where: Inveresk Precinct, Invermay

Details: The animal welfare charity’s largest annual fundraiser will take place in 75 locations across Australia to raise funds to help end animal cruelty. Once again, Tasmanian dog lovers have a choice of three convenient and picturesque Million Paws Walk locations at each corner of the state. A unique and beautiful walk event will be held in Ulverstone, Launceston and Hobart. “The Million Paws Walk brings people and pups together to raise money to help end animal cruelty,” says RSPCA Tasmania Chief Executive Officer Dr. Andrew Byrne. “It’s also a fantastic day out filled with colour, dogs of every shape, breed and size imaginable, plenty of fun activities and prizes, and wonderful people who are all there to support an incredibly worthy mission – saving the lives of injured, sick and neglected animals. “All events offer a range of food as well as activities, entertainment and great prizes for pooches and people. The money raised will keep RSPCA rescue shelters operating and inspectors on the road investigating cruelty cases. It will provide for community education programs and services to break cycles of abuse and neglect.
