A new study released last week shows that after three years of follow up, patients with diseases like emphysema who use e-cigarettes, show much improved health over those that continue to smoke. The benefits are similar to those who quit cold turkey. Results like this illustrate evidence of the vastly reduced harm of vaping compared to smoking in the real world. Many vaping and e-cig scare stories are based on completely unrealistic experiments on mice and is further evidence that the substitution of smoking by vaping is a potentially enormous public health prize that could save the lives of millions of smokers who can’t or don’t want to quit.
