The Royal Agricultural Society of Australia have confirmed the Royal Hobart Show will proceed this week.

It's a milestone event, celebrating 200 years of agricultural showing in Hobart.

The announcement follows the news lockdown will lift for southern Tasmania.

But the show didn't escape unscathed, with the snap shutdown presenting some logistical challenges for day one.

The Show will instead run from Thursday October 21st to Saturday October 23rd.

Showgoers who had booked a session on Wednesday will be refunded and can book another session if they wish on the three remaining days of the Show.

Society CEO Scott Gadd has promised a "fantastic show."

“200 years of agricultural exhibiting in Hobart is an Australian first, and we’re going to make it a memorable occasion for everyone" Gadd said.
