Motorcyclist in hospital following NW crash
A male motorbike rider has suffered serious injuries after colliding with another vehicle on the Bass Highway at Chasm Creek.
The incident happened at the Sea Eagle Street intersection at about 6:15 on Wednesday morning.
He was taken by ambulance to the North West Regional Hospital for treatment.
The crash caused huge delays for drivers heading west during peak hour, with traffic banked up to the Howth roundabout.
Initially, emergency service personnel investigating the crash restricted movement to one lane in each direction, before a second eastbound lane opened up later on.
The entire road has since been cleared and traffic returned to normal at about 10am.
