Serious truck smash in Launceston
A man aged in his mid-30s remains in a serious condition in hospital following a crash between two trucks on the northbound lanes of Launceston's Southern Outlet, shutting it down for several hours from about 5:45pm yesterday.
He was trapped inside the cabin of the flatbed truck and had to be cut free by emergency services.
The driver of the other laden truck, a similar aged male, was also taken to the LGH but was discharged a short time later.
Investigations into what caused the incident are ongoing.
"Police would like anyone with may have witnessed the crash or with dash cam footage of the incident to contact Northern Road & Public Order Services on 67773945," a statement said.
