Tassie warned to batten down the hatches
The State Emergency Service says Tasmanians need to prepare their properties for damaging winds on Wednesday.
kunyani-Mt Wellington recorded a 102-kilometre an hour gust early early in the morning.
Crews are on standby around the warning area which takes in most of Tasmania including Greater Hobart, the East and West Coasts, the Midlands and Central Highlands.
The public's warned to supervise children closely, secure outdoor items and beware of downed lines.
“We will have SES volunteer crews prepared and on standby to assist anyone affected by the forecast damaging winds, and I ask the community to help us by taking the time to prepare for the forecast hazards,” said SES Regional Manager Mark Nelson.
