Bottle used in attempted aggravated robbery

A man is recovering after being hit in the face with a glass bottle in Launceston's CBD.

Offenders believed to be in their mid teens and wearing hooded tops approached the victim and demanded cash at Princes Square around 3pm yesterday.

He managed to flee, but they caught up with him in the Brisbane Street mall and allegedly attacked him with a bottle, the resulting injuries requiring hospital treatment.

Police believe it was an isolated incident.

One suspect was described as about 14-years-old, Caucasian, 165cm, with blonde-brown hair, wearing a white hoodie and long pants.

The other was described as about 15-years-old, Caucasian, about 175cm, brown hair, heavyset build wearing a green or blue hooded jumper.
