Coronavirus 628x90

Ta Ann closure

Around 100 staff at timber processor Ta Ann Tasmania are being stood down until at least mid April.

Tasmanian Broadcasters understands the company is blaming the impact of coronavirus on global markets for the measure, which will take at close of business Tuesday March 24.

Including Easter leave, the current closure will include 10 working days at the Lonnavale and Smithton mills.

The company and local union representatives have been contacted for comment.
