Ridiculous rider antics
Police are hunting a hoon motorcyclist who sped through a fatal crash scene in northwest Tasmania last week.
Emergency services were responding to the tragedy, which claimed the life of a 54 year old Devonport man, on the Bass Highway near Sassafras on Thursday night.
Their job was made all the harder when a rider ignored the road closure and accelerated past officers who were trying to flag the blue bike down - the offender then weaving through the crash scene, almost losing control.
It is a flagrant disregard for the 40 kilometre an hour speed limit introduced in December for motorists passing stationary or slow-moving emergency vehicles under lights, police labelling the conduct thoughtless.
