Tiger snake tragedy

A snake expert believes a delay in medical care may have led to the state's first snakebite fatality in nearly 45 years.
A man in his 70s has tragically succumbed to Tiger snake venom after taking multiple bites at Oatlands this week.
A teenage boy was also airlifted to Hobart overnight after stepping on a Tiger outside his home at Bothwell.
Chris Daly from Reptile Rescue warns snakes will be seeking shelter from Friday's hot weather; by 7.30 am on Friday he'd already responded to three callouts.
"The coolest place is obviously around the house; what the snake does is, it cruises around the house and if it finds an opening it goes in there because it's cooler," he said.
