Zeehan bike trail

The West Coast's ambition of becoming a mountain biking destination is taking shape, with a new track near Zeehan now completed.

The Oonah Hill track was funded from some of the state government's $500,000 grant to diversify the region's economy which suffered a decline due to the closure of the Mount Lyell mine.

Set in the hills just outside of Zeehan, the trail provides new recreation opportunity for locals and tourists alike, with riders passing through several old mining structures on the trail.

More bike tracks are on the drawing board, including the gravity trails adjacent to Queenstown.
