Tasmania's suicide rate
A report that was made public by the Tasmanian Government Friday has revealed that between 2012 and 2016 the state's suicide rate was higher than the Australian average. In total suicide has claimed the lives of 359 Tasmanians and contrary to popular belief the report revealed that many of these people had not been diagnosed with a mental illness.
As a community we need to remember that we all have a role to play to suicide prevention by regularly checking in with people.
