Flemington's Birdcage enclosure will be abundant in feminine, floral fashions on Oaks Day.

Dubbed 'Ladies Day,' Thursday's race meeting is known as much for its fashion as horse racing.

Celebrity stylist Lana Wilkinson, who will be attending as a guest of dating app Bumble, says to expect more of the feminine trends already seen during the spring racing season.

"We'll definitely be seeing more full skirts, ruffles pastels and pink, all those feminine trends will be front and centre on Oaks Day," she told AAP.

Joining her in the Bumble marquee will be model Jessica Gomes, television presenter Lisa Wilkinson and Victoria Racing Club ambassador Tegan Martin.

Olympian Usain Bolt and Carlton skipper Marc Murphy and wife Jessie will be partying in the Mumm marquee, while Lexus will play host to former cricketer Ricky Ponting and wife Rianna and AFL boss Gillon McLachlan and wife Laura.

McLachlan was unlucky on Cup Day with the horse he part-owns, five-year-old grey gelding Neufbosc, finishing 21st in the big race.

Jeweller Kennedy, who is naming rights sponsor of Thursday's main race, will host model Nicole Trunfio.

"I am so excited for my look! The best part about the races is the fashion. Can't wait to see what everyone is wearing!" she posted on Instagram earlier this week.

The day's significance on the fashion calendar is further reinforced by the crowning of the Fashions on the Field women's national winner over in The Park enclosure.
