Antibiotic Advice For Recreational Anglers

Tasmania’s Director of Public Health has recommended recreational anglers consider not eating any of their catch taken within 3 kilometres of a salmon pen treated with newly approved antibiotic florfenicol for 21 days after its been applied.

The salmon industry’s been given the go ahead to use the product to reduce mass fish mortalities.

The Environment Protection Authority is releasing information on their website about the sites where salmon are being treated with florfenicol.
