Winter's back

If you thought Tasmania might be leaving Winter behind, think again, because there's a big wet blow for much of the state coming.

Winds are picking up tonight ahead of a large cold front crossing tomorrow evening bringing damaging winds hitting 100 kilometres an hour.

The Bureau of Meteorology's Alex Melitsis also sees some rain on the way.

"Tomorrow, we're expecting a fair bit of rain into the West, we are looking to 30 to 40 millimetres, perhaps even higher on the high peaks in the West and the elevated areas of the Central Highlands, maybe 10 to 20 millimetres in parts of the North and then on Saturday again we are looking at rainfall of around 30 to 40 millmetres in the West, as well."
